In support of these goals, the university is offering a one-time, local, Stony Brook University (SBU) Voluntary Separation Program (“VSP”) to all SBU full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty meeting the criteria below. The intent of this program is to provide salary savings that will be reinvested fully into new tenure-track faculty hiring.

Please continue submitting State Independent Contractors to HRS_Independent_Contractors@stonybrook.edu and RF Independent Contractors to hr_rf_independent_contractors@stonybrook.edu


You will make your electronic election through the SUNY Retirement at Work Portal​ and also submit the corresponding paper application​. Please note, if you are electing either ERS or TRS, these paper forms require a physical signature, digital signatures are not acceptable.
