The program is available to all Full-Time State & RF Employees attending a SUNY or Empire State College. A percentage of the tuition for three (3) credits may be waived each Spring and Fall semesters, based on career-relatedness and availability of funds.
This program is available to UUP members attending a SUNY or Empire State College and is dependent upon space being available.
The Research Foundation for SUNY’s annual Open Enrollment period will run from November 1, 2025 through November 30, 2025. If you cannot access RF Self Service, you may use this portal to submit a paper open enrollment form. Forms must be submitted no later than November 30, 2025.

The Health Insurance Option Transfer Period begins now and will run until December 31, 2025. During the transfer period, you may elect to change your health insurance options. We recommend that you evaluate your health care needs to determine if a change should be made. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN, YOUR BENEFIT ELECTION WILL REMAIN THE SAME IN 2026.

Adding a dependent to an existing health insurance plan.
After you have attended the New Employee Benefits Overview, you will receive the New Employee Benefits Overview Checklist. You must sign this document and submit to the Benefits Unit, certifying your attendance of the session.

In support of these goals, the university is offering a one-time, local, Stony Brook University (SBU) Voluntary Separation Program (“VSP”) to all SBU full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty meeting the criteria below. The intent of this program is to provide salary savings that will be reinvested fully into new tenure-track faculty hiring.
Starting this fall, departments will be able to request a curated benefits meeting (in-person or over zoom) tailored specifically to the needs of their team members.
You will make your electronic election through the SUNY Retirement at Work Portal and also submit the corresponding paper application. Please note, if you are electing either ERS or TRS, these paper forms require a physical signature, digital signatures are not acceptable.
