About this Service

Several solutions are in place across Stony Brook Medicine to track patient information and allow monitoring when not at the bedside. 

Cerner CareView is dynamic dashboard used to display patient-specific information in one view. This product is designed to provide caregivers with a platform to provide patient care and improved staff planning.  These boards are currently used on all clinical units in both the Hospital Bed tower & Pavilion..

Cerner Case Tracking Boards provide for real-time viewing of patient information from various Cerner applications.  These types of boards are used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and Women's Health, amongst other areas.  Cerner applications such as SurgiNet, FirstNet, and Fetalink.  

GE Webviewer displays are used in both the Hospital Bed tower & Pavilion for convenient viewing of patient telemetry data.  These monitors can be found at each "Y-station" in the Pavilion, and in unit hallways of most levels of the Hospital Bed tower.  This system is meant only as a reference point, and not a primary source of monitoring.  

HUGS Infant Protection System (IPS) is in use at Stony Brook Medicine to protect not just newborns, but pediatric patients of all ages.  This system is continually watching over each infant, every exit from the unit, all parts of the system and the entire SBM environment.  Desktop monitoring stations allow for continual supervision and "out of unit" alerts.
