CareAware Connect provides our healthcare professionals and ancillary staff members a communication platform with secure communication options for the purposes of daily correspondence and care team collaboration. 

Our fleet of Connect Devices allow for secure voice calling, texting, and other forms of messaging, and secondary alert notification workflows. 
CareAware Connect is not intended to serve as the sole means of communication, nor act as an exclusive system for critical or emergency communication.

The Mobile Communications team support these handheld devices, commonly referred to as "Cerner Phones".  The current supported device model:

* Spectralink Versity 9553  (Versity 95 Series | Spectralink)

The Cerner Connect Devices currently have four primary applications that are meant for security communication and transfer of patient health information.

Connect Nursing
Connect Nursing empowers the clinician to make informed decisions faster by pushing patient information for assigned patients to caregivers. A subset of clinical and patient information from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) is available for reference on the go throughout the hospital.

Connect Voice
Connect Voice encapsulates all VoIP telephony functions, including inbound and outbound calling, emergency contacts, and call history.  Connect Voice is designed to integrate with Connect Messenger for all calling workflows, and uses a shared user context to eliminate the need for logging into multiple apps. Connect Voice is only intended for use on shared mobile devices deployed in a facility on an internal client network.

Connect Messaging
Connect Messenger encapsulates all messaging, directory, and alerting functions. Based on client deployment, Connect Messenger offers both Shared distribution (for internal users on shared mobile devices, aka "Cerner Phones"), and BYOD distribution, for external users on personal devices, or on desktop computers.  Connect Messenger provides the following features: 

• Alerting: Health care providers receive notification of events generated by medical devices, nurse call systems, and electronic health record (EHR) solutions. 

• Messaging: Providers can send and receive text messages securely in a health care organization. Message conversations can be comprised of two or many users. 

• Contacts: A comprehensive directory of all contacts is provided, including personnel, locations, care position profiles, and communication resources within an organization with whom users can communicate. 

Camera Capture
Cerner Camera Capture supports fast, easy and smart workflows for the clinician. Cerner Camera Capture enables users to securely acquire and store clinical photos to the patient record from any mobile device.
