This guide explains how to configure network copiers with the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) on Windows devices.
Step-by-Step Configuration Guide
-
Go to Printers & Scanners:
Open Windows Settings, choose Bluetooth & devices in the left menu, then select Printers & scanners.
-
Add a Device:
Click the Add device button at the top of the Printers & scanners page.
-
Choose Manual Printer Setup:
When the options appear, find "The printer that I want isn't listed" and select Add a new device manually.
-
Select the IP Address Option:
In the Add Printer popup window, choose Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click Next.
-
Select IPP Device Type:
Set the Device type drop-down menu to IPP Device.
Note: Autodetect defaults to WSD and TCP/IP printers. To search for an IPP printer, you must manually select IPP from the drop-down menu.
-
Enter the Printer IP Address:
Type the correct IP address, and the port number if needed, in the Hostname or IP address field, then click Next.
-
Confirm and Test the Setup:
After setup is complete, a success message will appear saying "You've successfully added [Printer Name]" (for example, HP LaserJet MFP E62665). Click Print a test page to check that the printer works, then click Finish.
